    Çeşitli hastalıklarda zerdeçal

    Antiioksidan/zerdeçal

    Zerdeçal en etkin ve en yaygın kullanılan antioksidanlardan biridir(5-9).

    Zerdeçal/enflamasyon

    Yapılan araştırmalar zerdeçalın lökotirien, prostaglandin, tumor nekroze edici faktör ve interlökin-12 gibi iltihap oluşturan kimyasal maddelerin ortaya çıkışını geciktirip hafiflettiğini göstermiştir(10-11).

    Solunum yolu enfeksiyonları/zerdeçal

    Zerdeçal antienflamatuar ve antioksidan etkileri ile solunum yolu enfeksiyonlarınada (üst solunum yolu enfeksiyonu, astım, bronşit, sinüzit) yaygın olarak kullanılan bir halk ilacıdır.

    Zerdeçal/kanser

    Zerdeçalın aktif maddesi curcumin hem kanserin korunmasını sağlar hem de bazı kanserlerde tedavi edici olarak kullanılmıştır Tümör hücrelerinin üremesini engeller ve toksik yan ürünlerini azaltır (12-17).

    Zerdaçal/Alzheimer

    Zerdeçal antioksidan ve antienflamatuar etkileri ile Alzheimer hastalığına gidişi engellemektedir. Zerdeçalın beta-amiloid plaklarının gelişimini yavaşlattığı da gösterilmiştir (18-20).

    Diğer hastalıklar

    Zerdeçalın başta mültipl skleroz (21-22), katarakt oluşumu (23), karaciğer hasarı (24), enfarktüs(25) ve felç (26) olmak üzere çeşitli hastalıklar üzerine olumlu etkileri olduğuna ilişkin çok sayıda çalışma vardır.
